Lever Positions-Left-Hand Reverser

Park (A): Locks transmission to hold tractor stationary, preventing it from rolling; "P" will appear on display.

If the lever is moved from Forward or Reverse directly to park position (A), the tractor will brake to a stop using the transmission. The park lock will then engage once speed is below 0.8 kph (0.5 mph).

Neutral (B): Unlocks tractor, allowing it to roll, but does not transmit power to the wheels; "N" will appear on display.

Scroll (C): Scrolls set speeds on corner post display.

If lever is moved from Forward or Reverse to scroll position (C), transmission goes into "Power Zero" mode. The tractor will continue to roll and will NOT be braked by the transmission. Park brake will automatically engage after ten seconds or when tractor speed drops below .8 kph (.5 mph). Always engage brake pedals when stopping the tractor.

If tractor is going up an incline and lever is moved from Forward or Reverse to the scroll position, the transmission goes into "Power Zero" mode. The transmission will hold the tractor from rolling down the incline. After ten seconds, park will automatically engage.

Power Zero (D): Hand-held position is used to temporarily hold tractor stationary.

If lever is moved from Forward or Reverse directly to Power Zero position (D), the tractor will continue to roll and will NOT be braked by the transmission. To obtain "Power Zero" you must hold lever firmly in position. If lever is released from "Power Zero" position, it will automatically go to scroll position. Always engage brake pedals when stopping the tractor.

If tractor is going up an incline and lever is moved from Forward or Reverse to the Power Zero position, the transmission will temporarily hold tractor from rolling down the incline.

Speed Control Lever

Travel speed is regulated using the speed control lever (A). Two speed ranges are available.

Speed range 1 allows a maximum forward speed of 20 km/h (12.4 mph). Speed range 2 allows a forward travel speed to be set equal to the maximum tractor speed (40 km/h, 25 mph). The maximum speed in range 1 is always the minimum speed in range 2. There is no change in speed when ranges are changed.

Maximum speed in each speed range is adjusted using set speed adjuster (B).

Adjusting Set Speeds

Use set speed adjuster on speed control lever to set maximum forward and reverse speeds in each range. The engine must be running and the left-hand reverser must be in one of the following positions:

  • Neutral position "N":

The digital display arrow alternates between the forward (A) and reverse (B) speed ranges. The speed setting and the ratio between forward and reverse speed can be changed in forward when the arrow is in front of the tractor and reverse when the arrow is behind the tractor symbol. Maximum forward speed setting (D) will be displayed when arrow is in front of tractor, indicating forward travel. Maximum reverse speed setting (E) will be displayed when arrow is behind tractor, indicating reverse travel. Maximum speed setting is also indicated with red needle (C) on analog display.

In range 1, reverse speeds can be set to a maximum of 30% higher and 70% lower than forward speeds. In range 2, the possible forward-to-reverse speed ratios are 1:1 up to 22 km/h (14 mph). After that, they increase to 50:30 or 40:30.

  • Park position:

The digital display alternates between the forward and reverse speed ranges. Depending on what is currently displayed, either the forward or reverse speed can be changed. The set forward-to-reverse speed ratio remains the same.

  • Position for forward or reverse travel:

The digital display shows the relevant speed range. Forward and reverse speeds can be changed. The set forward-to-reverse speed ratio remains the same.

The maximum speed setting of a range is reached with the engine at full throttle and the speed control lever at the end of its travel in the speed range. If the hand throttle is not at the end of its travel, the tractor will move at a corresponding speed (not proportional). If the speed control lever is not at the end of its travel in a speed range, the tractor will move at a corresponding speed (not proportional).

Set speed adjuster does not have a stop and can be "infinitely" adjusted. It makes a change in relation to the previous setting. If the maximum speed setting is changed with adjuster while the tractor is moving, the change is always based on the last setting. Rotating adjuster wheel will directly increase or decrease the last maximum speed setting.

Creeper Mode

If a forward travel speed below 2 km/h (1.24 mph) is used in speed range 1, the tractor will automatically shift to creeper mode. The minimum travel speed is 0.05 km/h (0.03 mph).

In speed range 2, the maximum speed is 2.5 times greater than in range 1. In both speed ranges, the maximum speed in creeper mode is 2.5 times greater than the minimum speed. For example, if a maximum speed of 0.50 km/h (0.33 mph) is set in range 1, the minimum speed is 0.20 km/h (0.12 mph).

At speeds below 0.6 km/h (0.37 mph), changing engine speed does not have any effect on travel speed.

The following occurs if the speed-adjusting wheel is used to increase travel speed while the tractor is in motion in range 2 with creeper mode selected:

  • If the speed selected is below 10 km/h (6.2 mph), the transmission remains in creeper mode. This means the originally set values will apply on changing back to range 1. Speed range 1 will flash on the digital display.
  • Creeper mode also remains in effect on returning to range 1 if the 10 km/h (6.2 mph) speed is exceeded and then reduced to under 10 km/h (6.2 mph).

OU1092A,000017A -19-11MAY05-6/11

  • Creeper mode will be exited if the 10 km/h (6.2 mph) speed is exceeded and range 1 is re-engaged. Forward speed range 1 will be automatically adjusted (to 2 km/h; 1.24 mph).

    IVT Selector Positions

IVT selector provides two automated productivity functions:

    • Load control (positions 1 to 3) provides automatic transmission shifting under load to maintain constant peak power levels and maximum productivity.
    • Fuel economy (Eco Mode) In positions greater than 3 to 5, the engine turns only as fast as needed. If the operator sets a speed in eco mode with full throttle and the electronic control system recognizes that full throttle is not necessary to maintain set speed, engine speed will be automatically reduced to a level adequate to maintain speed and power. This results in fuel savings and noise reduction. Eco mode is not suited for operations that require high hydraulic output and PTO operation where engine speed directly determines PTO speed.

causym CAUTION: Avoid possible injury from unexpected acceleration. When load is reduced, tractor will resume selected set speed.

NOTE: For most applications, maximum productivity and fuel economy is realized when IVT selector is in positions 1 to 5.

Positions 1 to 3: Most PTO, Loader, and High-Flow Hydraulic Applications

Positions 1 to 3 vary the amount of revolutions the engine is allowed to pull down under load, before the transmission automatically reduces tractor ground speed. This can be adjusted based on application. For most PTO and loader applications, positions 2 to 3 will be used.

Position 1 (C) allows a 30% reduction in engine speed before transmission automatically reduces tractor ground speed.

Position 2 (D) allows an 18% reduction in engine speed before transmission automatically reduces tractor ground speed.

Position 3 (E) allows a 5% reduction in engine speed before transmission automatically reduces tractor ground speed.

Positions 3 to 4: Plowing and Tillage

Operating under load: Positions greater than 3 to 4 (F) allow a 12% reduction in engine speed before transmission automatically reduces tractor ground speed.

Operating under light load or no load: Selected tractor ground speed will be maintained while engine speed automatically reduces as follows:

·At positions greater than 3, engine speed reduces by 200 rpm

·At position 4, engine speed reduces by 650 rpm

Positions 4 to 5: Transport and Light Tillage

Operating under load: Positions greater than 4 to 5 (G) allow a 12% reduction in engine speed before transmission automatically reduces tractor ground speed.

Operating under light load or no load: Selected tractor ground speed will be maintained while engine speed automatically reduces to a minimum of 1200 rpm at position 5.

      Position 0 (OFF):

In position 0 (B), transmission will not shift automatically in order to maintain engine speed with varying load demands.

Hand and Foot Throttle - IVT

The stronger signal is always used for transmission control.

If the foot throttle or hand throttle (A) is moved to command a higher engine speed, engine speed increases. In Fuel Economy mode, once the set travel speed is reached, engine speed is reduced again (load controlled).

If left-hand reverser lever is in Forward or Reverse, tractor can be accelerated to set speed using foot throttle or hand throttle. Immediate travel speed is directly dependent on foot or hand throttle setting. Engine speed is only indirectly determined by hand throttle position.

When using foot or hand throttle, the values set with IVT selector and cruise control are always taken into consideration. Therefore, the value set using cruise control cannot be exceeded even at full throttle. In Fuel Economy mode, the engine turns only as fast as needed, even if operator applies full throttle.

          Brake Pedals- IVT

causym CAUTION: Once brake pedals are released, tractor automatically resumes speed currently commanded by hand or foot throttle.

causym CAUTION: If only one brake pedal is depressed, tractor will not come to a standstill.

IMPORTANT: Speed control lever makes it possible to demand a drastic reduction in speed in a very short time. As a built-in safety feature, the IVT transmission responds to such a demand at a gradual rate. Always use both brake pedals as well when decelerating quickly.

NOTE: Full torque remains available even at a very slow speed. In certain conditions, even ground obstacles will not stop tractor completely.

NOTE: When engaging park brake on bumpy terrain, depress both brake pedals as well.

Brake pedals also control automatic clutch function. Partially depressing both pedals allows tractor to creep. If both pedals are depressed fully, tractor will stop, but power flow is still at the transmission. There is no need to depress clutch pedal.

          Clutch Pedal- IVT

The clutch pedal normally does not need to be depressed to stop the tractor. If the clutch pedal is depressed, the corresponding clutch signal has priority over other commands.
