Driving Tractor On Roads

causym CAUTION: To prevent possible personal injury, always operate flashing warning lights when traveling on a highway or public roads except where prohibited by law.

causym CAUTION: Prevent collisions between other road users, slow-moving tractors with attachments or towed equipment, and self-propelled machines on public roads. Frequently check for traffic from the rear, especially in turns, and use turn signal lights.

Check headlights, flashing warning lamps, tail lights, and road transport lights before operating tractor on highway. Adjust rear-view mirrors and clean windows and SMV emblem.

Lights -Use headlights, flashing warning lights and warning extremity lights, and turn signals day and night. Avoid using front grille flood and spot lights which could blind or confuse other drivers. Follow local regulations for equipment lighting and marking. Keep lighting and marking visible and in good working order. Replace or repair lighting and marking that has been damaged or lost. An implement safety lighting kit is available from your John Deere Dealer.

Brakes -Avoid hard application of brakes.

Hitch -Set hitch control lever in transport lock position to prevent possible injury or equipment damage from lowering of hitch while transporting.

Remote Cylinders -Push transport lock touch switch on SCV TouchSet monitor to eliminate possibility of lowering an implement during transport by inadvertently bumping the extend/retract lever.

Wide-Swing Drawbar -Lock in position.

NOTE: Engine rpm changes to preset level when in road gear.

24-Speed POWRSYNC Transmission in D 3-Hi gear will limit engine to 2060 rpm and track speed approximately 32 km/h (19.9 mph).

18-Speed Powershift Transmission in 18th gear will limit engine to 2100 rpm and track speed approximately 32 km/h (19.9 mph).
