Ballast Types

Cast iron wheel weights and QUIK-TATCH weights are the preferred form of ballast. Other forms of ballast include front idler wheel weights, side frame bracket weights, QUIK-TATCH weights beside the engine, and rear drive wheel weights.

In some cases, it may be necessary or desirable to remove either front or rear ballast. The preferred location of additional ballast is in front of the tractor center of gravity. A QUIK-TATCH weight facilitates this for front ballast. Installation and removal of rear weights on outside of wheels requires the use of a hoist or forklift.

The standard front weight support weighs 170 kg (375 lb).

QUIK-TATCH Weights weigh 47 kg (104 lb) each. Up to 22 weights can be installed on the front weight support.

Up to five 47 kg (104 lb) QUIK-TATCH weights can be added on EACH side of the engine (TEN weights total).

Up to two 48 kg (105 lb) starter weights and 12 45 kg (100 lb) idler wheel weights (A) can be added to EACH front idler wheel.

A-Front Idler Wheel Weights

A 68 kg (150 lb) weight bracket can be added to EACH side of the track frame.

Up to 14 47 kg (104 lb) QUIK-TATCH weights can be added the side frame weight bracket on EACH side of the tractor.

NOTE: Adding side frame weights will increase the overall tractor width from 2616 mm (103 in.) to 3251 mm (128 in.).

Adding side frame weights will decrease ground or crop clearance. The weight bracket is reversible to provide additional clearance if needed.

Drive wheel weights weigh 150 kg (330 lb) each. Up to three weights can be installed on each drive wheel.
