IMPORTANT:
Do not overload tractor. If maximum recommended weight of 14301 kg (31500 lb) is not enough, reduce load.
Use appropriate front ballast for a particular operating condition. Tractors should have only enough ballast to maintain steering control.
Adjust ballast as tractor use changes.
For example, adjust ballast when changing from mounted to towed implements.
Remove ballast if tractor engine labors when pulling heavy loads in gears slower than 7th.

Check front-to-rear balance.
Correct front-to-rear balance should be maintained whenever ballast is added or removed. A good way to check for correct balance is driving or walking along side of tractor during operation and visually checking to ensure entire contact area of track (B) is in contact with soil surface at all times with implement engaged.
Adjustments may need to be made to the implement gauge wheels or more front weight may have to be added if daylight can be seen between the front idler wheel (A) and the soil surface.
