Track Tensioning and Detensioning
CAUTION:
Avoid possible personal injury. Tension kit valve should be in the closed position when attaching either end of the hose.
IMPORTANT:
All hydraulic couplers must be clear of debris, dust, and sand. Use protective caps on fluid openings until ready to make connection. Foreign material can damage the hydraulic system.
Tighten or loosen the track as follows using tension hose kit. See your John Deere dealer for parts.
Plug male end of tension hose kit into SCV I coupler (A).
Remove rubber cap from tension receptacle and attach female valve end of hose (B).
Open valve (C) and start the engine.
Set SCV flow to 5.0 and detent time to continuous.
NOTE:
Track can now either be tensioned or detensioned.
Push SCV I lever forward to retract the cylinder until the track goes slack.
NOTE:
Moving the SCV lever forward and rearward may be necessary to open flow path, before cylinder can be extended or retracted.
Pull SCV I lever back to the extend detent position to activate continuous flow to tension the track.
Allow oil to flow into system for at least 6 minutes.
Close the valve (D).
Push SCV lever forward to release pressure in hose.
Shut off the engine and remove tension hose kit.
