Checking Manual Brakes

SERVICE INTERVAL - 250 HOURS
 

 

Check manual brakes for correct function with engine stopped:

1. Pump brake. The pedal (A) should have a solid feel. If pedal does not feel solid, bleeding the brakes may be necessary. See your John Deere dealer.

IMPORTANT: Any noticeable pedal drift downward from the point of resistance indicates brake leakage. See your John Deere dealer.

2. Make sure the pedal does not settle to the end of stroke within 10 seconds after being applied. If leakage exceeds this rate, see your John Deere dealer.
