Lubricating PTO Drive Shaft

SERVICE INTERVAL - 250 HOURS

 

NOTE: Rotate PTO shaft so fitting can be accessed between shield and gudgeon.

Lubricate front PTO shaft fitting (A) located between transmission and PTO clutch.

Remove cap screws (B), each side, and remove lower cover (C) to access rear lubrication fitting.

Lubricate rear PTO shaft fitting (D) located behind the PTO clutch.

Reinstall lower drive shaft cover. Tighten cap screws to specification.

Specification

Lower Drive Shaft Cover -Torque 28 N·m (20 lb-ft)

Use John Deere SD POLYUREA GREASE is preferred or grease as specified in Fuels, Lubricants and Coolant Section.
