Replacing VARI-COOL™ Fan Belt-9330-9430-9530-9630 13.5 L Engine

1. For disassembly perform the following: Raise hood.

2. Remove cap screws (B) and front right-hand side panel (A).

IMPORTANT: Be careful not to damage sheave or belt when forcing outer sheave outward.

3. Locate control valve at location (A) under rear left-hand upper gusset of main frame.

4. Loosen bleed screw jam nut and bleed screw (B) 1-2 turns and force outer sheave (C) open.

IMPORTANT: Bleed screw (B) does not need to be completely removed for bleeding.

Bleed screw (B) is an internal drain that must be closed after sheave has been forced open.

5. Close bleed screw (B) and tighten to specification.

Specification

Bleed Screw -Torque 25 N·m (221 lb-in.)
Bleed Screw Jam Nut -Torque 25 N·m (221 lb-in.)

6. Remove cap screws (A) from fan hub (C) and move fan (B) forward.

7. Disconnect hose (A).

causym CAUTION: Sheave is under spring tension, use care when loosening cap screws.

8. Loosen cap screws (B) evenly to achieve 26 mm (1 in.) (C) between cap screws (B) and upper sheave (D).

9. Remove belt (E) between sheave and fan hub.

IMPORTANT: Mating surfaces of sheave and shaft must be clean and free of oil or lubricant when installing driven sheave on shaft.

10. For reassembly perform the following: Install belt (A) in reverse order of disassembly on driven assembly and tighten cap screws (B) to specifications labeled on the driven sheave.

Sheave-to-Driven Assembly - Specification

Nut -Torque 130 N·m (96 lb-ft)

11. Install and tighten fan hub-to-driven sheave cap screws to specification. Ensure belt is not pinched while tightening cap screws.

Fan hub-to-Driven Sheave Assembly - Specification

Nut -Torque 35 N·m (26 lb-ft)

NOTE: Belt will be loose on the drives until engine is started and run.

12. Belt should appear loose in drive assembly.

IMPORTANT: Internal bleed screw must be closed for proper tension to be applied to the belt once tractor is started.

13. Check internal bleed screw to make sure it is closed and jam nut is tight.
