Using Six Position SCV Control Levers

causym CAUTION: Prevent possible personal injury. Ensure hydraulic hoses are not reversed at the couplers if cylinder is extending when it should be retracting. Switch hoses at the coupler for proper operation.

SCV control levers (I-VI) have six positions:

  • Neutral (A) -Lever returns to center position when released except in float position
  • Extend (B) (rearward between Neutral and Extend Detent)-variable flow to extend cylinder, proportional to lever movement; shuts off when returned to center position
  • Retract (C) (forward between Neutral and Retract Detent)-variable flow to retract cylinder, proportional to lever movement; shuts off when returned to center position
  • Extend Detent (D) (rearward to "click" position)-timed flow to extend cylinder, based on detent time setting and at a rate set by flow rate control (See Adjusting Timed Detent and Adjusting Selective Control Valve Flow Rate in this Section) Lever returns to neutral when released
  • Retract Detent (E) (forward to "click" position)-timed flow to retract cylinder, based on detent time setting and at a rate set by flow rate control. (See Adjusting Timed Detent and Adjusting Selective Control Valve Flow Rate in this Section.) Lever returns to neutral when released
  • Float (F) (fully forward and down into locked position)-valve is open to sump to allow cylinder to extend or retract so implement can follow ground contour; must be pulled up and out of locked position to disengage

IMPORTANT: To relieve standard hydraulic system pressure in implement, move SCV control lever to float position, while engine is running.

IMPORTANT: To relieve high flow hydraulic system pressure, stop engine, turn key on without starting engine, move SCV control lever back and forth between extend and retract.

Cover (G) can be moved to cover and SCV levers (I -IV) when not in use.
