Replacing Primary and Secondary Engine Air Filters

SERVICE INTERVAL - ANNUALLY *
 
* Interval can vary according to operating conditions or when filter indicator light is ON.

 

Replace the primary air filter if the filter indicator light is ON.

NOTE: Replace filters at least once a year or when air filter indicator remains ON.

Replace secondary filter every second primary filter change.

IMPORTANT: 9630 Only: When Engine Air Filter Restriction Warning is activated (CCU 030) the engine performance will be reduced. Service engine air filter immediately.

Do not use compressed air pressure to clean engine air filters.

NOTE: Make sure air filter and air intake assembly seals are in good condition.

Remove four wing nuts (A) to remove air cleaner shield (B).

Unfasten four clips (C) to remove filter cover.

Grasp air filter handle (D) to slide air cleaner forward and release from canister inlet.

Remove filter from canister.

Clean dirt and debris from inside canister and cover.

IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to clean secondary filter.

Replace secondary filter every second primary filter change.

Install new secondary filter immediately to prevent dust from entering air intake system.

Pull on handle (A) to remove secondary filter (B).

Replace air filters.

When reinstalling secondary filter, be sure to insert filter tab (C) into canister slot (D) for proper seal.

Install air filters in reverse order of disassembly.

IMPORTANT: Be sure secondary filter tab (C) is correctly inserted into canister slot (D) or possible damage to engine may result.
