Tire Failure
More tires go out of service prematurely from under-inflation
than for any other reason. Some types of tire use will subject the
sidewall of the tire to a severe folding action when the proper inflation
pressure is not maintained. Inflation pressure checks are particularly
important in fluid-inflated tires. The air volume is relatively small
and any air loss will result in a much greater decrease in pressure
than when the tire is inflated with air only.
