Overfilling can cause damage

Adjust chain wearstrip clearance with a grease
cylinder.

-
Overfilling the elevator basket can cause damage to cane. Damage
to elevator slats and deflector plates can also result from overfilling.
-
The elevator floor should always be free of dirt and debris,
since this can impair cleaning ability.
-
Chain to wearstrip clearance should be adjusted regularly using
the grease cylinder. (See Service Section for more detailed adjustment
procedures).
-
Too much slat-to-floor clearance or worn chains can cause the
cane to become lodged under slats causing cane damage, as shown below
right. Chain and slat damage can also contribute to loose chains or
worn wearstrips.
-
Chains should be checked daily for damage or loose links. Either
of these conditions could cause the chain to break during operation.
IMPORTANT: Adding extra slats to the chains will decrease chain
life.
IMPORTANT: Never install slats between two links. To do so will
cause abnormal wear to chain and sprocket and possibly damage to the
elevator's floor.
-
To maximize chain life, move elevator slats to alternate links
every 500 hours of operation.
