Changing Chopper Gearbox Oil
Change chopper gearbox oil every 1000 hours.
-
Start engine and engage harvester functions at full throttle
to warm the gear oil.
-
Turn off harvester functions and engine.
-
Park harvester level to allow oil to drain properly.
-
Remove filler cap (C) and drain plug (A) and allow oil to completely
drain into an appropriate container. Dispose of oil according to company
and government guidelines.
-
After draining oil, replace drain plug (A).
-
Add gear oil slowly through filler port (C), gear oil is heavy
and needs time to settle. Oil level should be at the top of sight
gauge (B).
NOTE: Some locations change the chopper gearbox oil at every
250 hours due to the harvesters working 24 hours per day. Please use
your own discretion.
