Adjusting Bale Size Potentiometer

Whenever necessary (i.e after potentiometer replacement), bale size potentiometer (A) must be correctly adjusted to allow the monitor to control the bale diameter exactly and thus the bale wrapping cycle.

Adjust as follows:

Switch ON the monitor in twine or net position.

Check that monitor has not been fine tuned (no diameter correction). See "Fine Tuning Bale Size" in "Operating BaleMaster Control" Section.

With tractor selective control valve lever move belt tension arm to its highest position.

With belt tension arm in upward position (against its stops), loosen the two fixing screws (B), then rotate the potentiometer (A) so that LCD screen displays a bale size of:

  • 1.34 m (4 ft 4.8 in) for the 570 baler
  • 1.59 m (5 ft 2.6 in) for the 580 baler
  • 1.84 m (6 ft 0.4 in) for the 590 baler

Carefully tighten fixing screws (B) without modifying the LCD screen display.
