Wrapping a Bale-Manual Twine Wrapping Mode (Programmed Start)

In this mode, the twine wrapping cycle must be tripped by the operator with the help of the pictograms displayed on LCD screen or sound alarm which will inform when to stop tractor forward travel and when to discharge the bale.

1. Once the preset bale diameter is reached, flashing pictogram (A) appears on LCD screen as the twine wrapping should start. At that time, operator should press START key to start wrapping cycle.

2. Pictogram (A) becomes continuous and a short sound alarm (about 2 seconds) is emitted as the wrapping cycle is starting. All along the cycle, the pictogram (B) appears continuously and the succession of digit segments (C) displays twine arm movement.

On Baler Without Pulley Sensors:

Operator should glance back on the twine pulleys (D) and check that twine has been caught and that pulleys (D) are rotating. If so, stop forward travel of tractor and back up tractor 2 to 3 m (8 to 10 ft) (not necessary if baler is equipped with discharging ramp).

3. When wrapping cycle is completed, pictogram (B) disappears and a short sound alarm (about 1 second) is emitted. Operator should once again glance back and check that twine has been cut.

The bale can now be discharged. See "Discharging Bale" in this Section.

On Baler With Pulley Sensors:

4. If both of the twine pulleys (D) are rotating (twine caught), special pictograms (E) and (F) are displayed. Because of this display, the operator does not have to glance back to check pulley rotation.

5. If one of the twine pulleys (D) is not rotating (twine not caught), relevant pictogram (E) or (F) will not be displayed, pictograms (B) and (G) will flash and an intermittent sound alarm will be emitted until:

  • Twine has been caught,
  • or gate has been opened,
  • or START, EXTEND or RETRACT key has been pressed.

6. If the twine has not been cut (pulleys are still rotating) and twine arm has reached its "home" position, pictograms (B) and (G) will flash and a continuous sound alarm will be emitted until:

  • Twine has been cut,
  • or START, EXTEND or RETRACT key has been pressed.

7. When wrapping cycle is completed, pictogram (B) disappears and a short sound alarm (about 1 second) is emitted.

The bale can now be discharged. See "Discharging Bale" in this Section.
