Adjusting Main Drive Chain
To ensure that all slack is removed from chain, close gate and engage PTO a few seconds. Shut off tractor engine.
Adjust tension of main drive chain (A) as follows:
Loosen idler mounting nut (B) and lock nut (C).
Screw in adjusting screw (D) until a slack of 6 to 25 mm (1/4 to 1 in.) on the strand opposite the idler is reached.
On Baler Without Cleaning Roll:
Tighten idler mounting nut (B) to 81 N·m (60 lb-ft), then slightly tighten lock nut (C).
On Baler With Cleaning Roll:
Tighten idler mounting nut (B) to 163 N·m (120 lb-ft), then slightly tighten lock nut (C).
Engage PTO a few seconds.
Check the chain deflection. Repeat adjustment if necessary.
