Detaching Mower-Conditioner From Tractor

causym CAUTION: To prevent personal injury caused by unexpected movement:

1. Park machines on a level surface
2. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park"
3. Disengage PTO
4. Shut off tractor engine and remove key

1. Park mower-conditioner on a level surface, or block mower-conditioner wheels so machine cannot roll after detaching from the tractor.

2. Lower platform.

3. Make sure tractor load/depth control is in position (A).

causym CAUTION: On 7000 Series John Deere tractors; Push SCV lever lockouts to the right (transport lock) before detaching implements to prevent implement movement and possible personal injury.

4. If equipped, push tractor SCV lever lockouts (B) to the right (transport lock).

5. Detach endwise transport latch rope, if equipped, from tractor operator station.

causym CAUTION: To prevent possible injury, use ONLY hitch control lever (A) when detaching implements. DO NOT use raise/lower switch (B).

6. Slowly push hitch control lever (A) to lower mower-conditioner hitch to the ground.

7. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".

8. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

9. Push lever (A) down to disconnect hydraulic hoses from tractor receptacles. Store hydraulic hoses in slots (C).

10. Disconnect road light harness from tractor. Insert plug end of harness in storage slot (D).

11. If equipped, wrap endwise transport latch rope (B) around front of tongue, as shown.

causym CAUTION: Shut off tractor engine before detaching PTO driveline. Entanglement in rotating driveline can cause serious injury or death.

12. Raise tractor PTO shield (B), if equipped.

13. Support driveline (C) and pull back on collar (A). Slide driveline off tractor shaft.

14. Lower tractor PTO shield.

15. Remove parts (A-E) from tractor draft links.

16. Reinstall hitch pin assemblies at both hitch arms (F).

17. Carefully drive tractor away.
