1. Disengage tractor PTO.

2. Position machines on a level surface. Firm soil or gravel is recommended.

If loading on a hard surface such as concrete or asphalt, engage transport system brakes (if equipped) or put wheel chocks in place to prevent trailer from sliding along hard surface during loading procedure.

3. Fold tuck panels up to fully raised position. (See Adjusting Windrow Width in Operating the Mower-Conditioner section.)

4. Start tractor engine and raise mower-conditioner platform.

5. Activate tongue swing circuit to align centerline of tractor with right-hand side of platform. This gives operator better visibility while backing up.

6. Align mower-conditioner wheels with transport ramps.

7. Tilt the cutterbar to obtain the minimum cut height. (See Adjusting Cut Height in Operating the Mower-Conditioner section.)

8. Slowly back mower-conditioner up ramps until both ramps raise completely.

9. Lower platform. As platform lowers, hooks (B) at wheel supports latch onto transport tubes (A).

10. Lower hitch slightly, to reduce load on transport support stand.

IMPORTANT: Make sure transport system brakes have been released before retracting tongue swing cylinder (See Parking the Machine with Transport System in Operating the Mower-Conditioner section).

DO NOT put tractor transmission in "Park" or use brakes during swing cylinder retraction.

11. Pull on transport latch rope (A) ( in tractor operator station ) to move cylinder stop (B) away from cylinder rod.

12. As cylinder rod retracts and tongue becomes parallel with carrier frame, tongue engages cradle (A) as transport latch hook (B) locks onto cradle.

13. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in "Park".

14. Shut off tractor engine and remove key.

15. Pull out lever (B) and lift up on handle (A) to raise support stand into transport position. Make sure lever (B) locks in place.

16. Connect road light wiring harness (A). (See Connecting Road Light Wiring Harness in Attaching and Detaching section.)

17. Transport system with brakes: connect hydraulic or pneumatic hoses (B). (See Attaching and Detaching section.)
