Attaching 746 Loader

causym CAUTION: DO NOT allow bystanders while attaching the loader.

To prevent serious injury, loader must be attached by the tractor driver himself.

1. Center tractor between loader masts, stopping tractor when hooks (B) on mounting frames are positioned under pins (A) on loader masts on each side.

2. Engage parking lock, apply handbrake and shut off engine.

3. Relieve hydraulic pressure.

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

4. Remove key and lock out controls. (See your Tractor Operator's Manual.)

5. Connect hydraulics.

a. Slide mid-mount bracket into bracket on loader mast and attach with quick-lock pin (A).

b. Connect hydraulic hoses to mid-mount valve using colored dust covers, identification tags or marks to match mating couplers. (See Identifying Hose Connections in Service Section.)

6. Start engine, release handbrake, place transmission in NEUTRAL to allow tractor movement.

7. Slowly dump bucket until masts (A) seat in mounting frames (B) and stands (C) are slightly off ground.

8. Engage parking lock, apply handbrake, shut off engine, remove key.

9. Make sure mast bushings (A) are aligned with frame bushings (B) on both sides of loader.

10. On both sides of loader install pins (A):

  • Left-Hand Side;

    a. Install pin (A) and insert handle end into slot (B).
    b. Install spring locking pin (C).

  • Right-Hand Side;

    a. Install pin (A) with hydraulic hoses (F) routed through pin handle (D) as shown. Insert handle end into slot (B).
    b. Install spring locking pin (C).
    c. Route hoses over support (E).

11. Remove quick lock pins (A) and parking stands (B).

12. Store parking stands in tube (A). Fasten with quick lock pins.

13. Check loader operation.
