Bucket Troubleshooting

Excessive wear on bucket cutting edge.

Too much down pressure when scraping on concrete surface.

Replace cutting edge.

Use FLOAT position.

Use heavy-duty bucket equipped with replaceable cutting edge attachment.

Bucket cutting edge bent down.

Edge has contacted a solid object while scraping forward with bucket dumped more than 15° below level.

Position bucket 0—15° below level to protect the cutting edge while scraping forward.

 

Lifting loads concentrated on bucket edge.

Distribute loads over wider area.

Bucket cutting edge bent up.

Edge has contacted a solid object while scraping or leveling rearward with bucket dumped more than 60° below level.

Position bucket at 60° or less below level to protect cutting edge while leveling rearward. Use FLOAT to reduce down pressure.

Insufficient bucket roll back.

Spacers for increased roll-back angle not installed.

Install spacers for increased roll-back angle. See Attachments section.

 

Faulty loader relief valve.

See your John Deere dealer.

Insufficient bucket dump.

Spacers for increased roll-back angle installed.

Remove spacers for increased roll-back angle. See Attachments section.
