Towing the Harvester

Prepare harvester as shown under "Transporting under Own Power".

causym CAUTION: Never tow harvester with a wire rope. Always use a suitable towbar. Connect towbar to towing eye on front axle.

Tow harvester at a safe and suitable speed, not to exceed 20 km/h (12.4 mph).

IMPORTANT: Towing at speeds higher than 20 km/h (12.4 mph) could damage tires, transmission and final drives.

Comply with local traffic regulations when towing the harvester, e.g. turn on flashing warning lights, display warning signs etc.

Place gear shift lever in neutral position

Only 1450 CWS and 1550 CWS.

In certain cases it may be necessary to disable the shift lock function to place the gear shift lever in neutral. It is necessary to remove the bushing (B) and turn the bolt (A) all the way in so the shifter cam is unlocked. In emergency cases, it would be possible to tow the machine for a short distance (less than 50 m) without following this procedure.
