Rear Axle Toe-In
Whenever the combine becomes difficult to steer or the rear tires begin to wear unevenly, adjust the rear wheel toe-in.
Proceed as follows to check and adjust alignment:
-
On a flat surface, straighten the rear wheels.
-
Mark a point at the front center of each tire. Measure distance (A).
-
Then mark the diametrically opposed point, i.e. the rear center of each tire.
-
Measure distance (B). It should be 10 mm (0.4 in.) greater than distance (A).
-
To adjust, loosen the locknuts at both ends of the tie rod and adjust the tie rod length.
