Changing Oil and Filter
IMPORTANT:
Observe the utmost cleanliness when installing replacement filter element or changing the oil.
Run the engine for approx. 5 minutes to heat up oil.
Then shut engine off.
Drain oil while it is still warm.
Open oil drain plug (A) or (B) and drain oil from crankcase.
Remove oil filter (see arrow).
Throw away sealing ring and clean mounting surface where sealing ring is fitted. Apply a thin coat of oil to new sealing ring and install it together with the new oil filter. When sealing ring is just touching the mounting surface, tighten filter manually by another 1/2 to 3/4 of a revolution. Do NOT overtighten filter.
Close oil drain plug (A) ou (B) again.
Fill engine crankcase with oil of the specified viscosity and quality.
Capacity (with filter change):
· 1450 - Engine 6.8 L - 20 L (5.01 U.S. gal.)
· 1550 - Engine 8.1 L - 28.5 L (7.52 U.S. gal.)
· 1450 CWS - Engine 6.8 L - 32 L (8.45 U.S. gal.)
· 1550 CWS - Engine 6.8 L - 32 L (8.45 U.S. gal.)
NOTE:
The actual capacity may vary slightly from the figure stated above. Fill crankcase until the oil is up to the upper mark on the dipstick. Do not overfill!
IMPORTANT:
Directly after completing an oil change and/or filter change, crank the engine for 30 seconds. This ensures that all the engine components are thoroughly lubricated when the engine is started.
Start the engine and check for leaks.
