Removing Combine From Storage - Engine

Check all hoses clamps and the coolant level.

Drain engine oil if it has not been done at the end of the harvest season. See "Fuel, Lubricants and Coolant".

Check all seals and coolant level.

Check battery charge and electrolyte level. Recharge battery if necessary.

Crank engine during 5 seconds without starting. It will assure complete engine lubrication.

This procedure is possible by disconnecting fuel supply solenoid connector (A) and crank engine.

1450 CWS and 1550 CWS

With combines using ECU is necessary to disconnect connector (A) by pulling lock latch (B) from ECU (C) and crank engine during 5 seconds.

Put the connector back.

Start engine and run it for approx. 5 minutes at half-rated speed.

Check all lines and seals for leaks. See your John Deere dealer if necessary.
