Pressure Relief Valves

IMPORTANT: Have pressure relief valves serviced by your John Deere dealer only.

The Main hydraulic valve block is equipped with four pressure relief valves which have been tested and set at the factory.

The secondary hydraulic valve block is controlled by relief valve (B) from main hydraulic valve block.

- Relief valve (A) restricts the maximum system pressure for lowering the cutting platform to 7000 kPa (70 bar; 1019 psi).).

- Relief valve (B) restricts the system pressure in the secondary circuit to 12000 kPa (120 bar; 1747 psi).

Secondary circuit includes the following functions:

  • Reel raise
  • Reel fore-and-aft
  • Grain tank discharge tube swinging.
  • Threshing cylinder speed variator
  • Cutting platform lateral tilt system

- Relief valve (C) restricts the system pressure in the primary circuit to 19500 kPa (195 bar; 2830 psi).

Primary circuit includes the following functions:

  • Cutting platform reverser
  • Lowering/raising header

The following functions are controlled by secondary hydraulic valve block:

  • Separator drive
  • Unloading auger drive
  • Header drive

If header cannot be raised to the desired height, relevant pressure relief valve may be defective. If this or a similar defect occurs, consult your John Deere dealer.
