Replacing Cylinder Variable Drive Belt-Combines With Posi-Torq Cylinder Drive

General Information

With the engine at top speed and the threshing unit engaged, use the cylinder speed control switch to fully open the beater shaft pulley (lowest cylinder speed). Disengage the threshing unit and stop the engine.

causym CAUTION: Do not adjust belt while the engine is running.

Removing Drive Belt

Push the beater lower pulley half inward as far as possible.

There are three M12 x 150 bolts (G) in the tool box. Insert these into the threaded holes in the outer half (H) of the cylinder shaft pulley. When the bolt ends touch the inner half the two halves will begin to separate and stay in that position.

NOTE: To remove, check that the belt is completely seated in the bottom of the cylinder shaft pulley slot.

With your hand pull the belt over the outer half of the beater shaft pulley (do not force).

Pull the belt off over the cylinder shaft pulley.

Reverse these steps to install the new belt.

IMPORTANT: After changing the belt, remove the three bolts and store them in the tool box.

Removing Belt on Machines with Reduction Gear

Rotate threshing cylinder through the half pulley (A) or using a wrench (See Rotating Cylinder By Hand) until the three holes (B) of reduction gear (C) are aligned with threaded holes of outer half pulley (A).

Remove nuts (D), (E) and support (F).

There are three M12 x 150 bolts (G) with nuts and washers in the tool box. Insert these into the threaded holes in the outer half pulley (A) of the cylinder shaft. Evenly tighten the three nuts (H) to separate the two halves.
