Diesel Engine Oil SAE 15W-40 (1450 and 1550)

Multi-viscosity diesel engine oil (SAE 15W-40) is from the highest performance level, made with high quality basics and special additives.

It is indicated to service classification API SF/CF-4 or higher.

It also meets MBB228.3, MF 6610.00, VW505.00, Caterpillar TO-2, Allison C-3, Mack EO-K/2 and Cummins NTC 400 specifications. It is also approved by MWM, Perkins, Scania and Volvo.

The following oil is also preferred:

  • John Deere PLUS-50 ®

It is possible to extend the oil change period when using John Deere PLUS-50 oil, see "Lubrication Chart, Periodic Service".".

Other oils may be used if they meet one of the following:

  • API Service Classification CG-4
  • API Service Classification CF-4
  • CCMC Specification D5
  • Mercedez Benz MB228.3

ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL

New engines are filled at the factory with John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL. During the break-in period, add John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL as needed to maintain the specified oil level.

NOTE: During the break-in period a higher-than-usual oil consumption should be considered as normal.

IMPORTANT: During the first 100 hours, under NO circumstances use John Deere PLUS-50 oil or any oil that meets the following: API specification CG-4, API specification CF-4, ACEA specification E2, ACEA specification E3 or CCMC specification D5. These oils do not satisfy the requirements for breaking in the engine.

Change the oil and filter after the first 100 hours of operation of a new or rebuilt engine.
