Diesel Engine Oil (CWS)
Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature range during the period between oil changes.
The following oil is preferred:
It is possible to extend the oil change period when using John Deere PLUS-50 oil, see "Lubrication Chart, Periodic Service".
The following oil is also recommended:

Other oils may be used if they meet one of the following:

Multi-viscosity diesel engine oils are preferred.
If diesel fuel with sulfur content greater than 0.5% is used, reduce the service interval by 50%.
Extended service intervals may apply when John Deere preferred engine oils are used. Consult your John Deere dealer for more information.
ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL
New engines are filled at the factory with John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL. During the break-in period, add John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL as needed to maintain the specified oil level.
