Multi-viscosity diesel engine oils are preferred. If diesel fuel with sulfur content greater than 0.5% is used, reduce the service interval by 50%. Extended service intervals may apply when John Deere preferred engine oils are used. Consult your John Deere dealer for more information. ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL New engines are filled at the factory with John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL. During the break-in period, add John Deere ENGINE BREAK-IN OIL as needed to maintain the specified oil level. |

NOTE: During the break-in period a higher-than-usual oil consumption should be considered as normal. IMPORTANT: During the first 100 hours, under NO circumstances use John Deere PLUS-50 oil or any oil that meets the following: API specification CG-4, API specification CF-4, ACEA specification E2, ACEA specification E3 or CCMC specification D5. These oils do not satisfy the requirements for breaking in the engine. Change the oil and filter after the first 100 hours of operation of a new or rebuilt engine. |
