Rigid Platform Calibration Procedure (600 Series)

The pressure sensor is calibrated for the header floatation installed on the combine in the float system calibration procedure. The float calibration procedure must be performed when a header is initially hooked up if the ground pressure (float) mode of operation will be used.

The following is a step by step procedure that shows operator action and system response.

Step Action GO TO:
Prepare Header for Calibration. Hook up header to the combine. Move the machine onto a level concrete surface. GO TO Step 1.
1 - Select Diagnostic Mode The cornerpost tach is used to provide diagnostic mode.
While pressing the up/down button on the tach, turn the combine key switch "ON" and start the combine.
The tach should display:
--
dIA
OK: GO TO Step 2.
NOT OK: Check cornerpost tach.
2 - Select AHC Press the up/down button on the tach to obtain the "AHC" display.
The tach should display:
--
AHC
OK: GO TO Step 3.
NOT OK: GO TO AHC Test Procedure No. 3.
3 - Enter float calibration mode. Press the fan speed button on the tach to access the "AHC" diagnostic mode.
The tach should display:
0000
AHC
Press the up/down button on the tach twice to obtain mode 2.
The tach should display:
0002
AHC
Press the fan speed button on the tach to jump to header calibration mode 30. Then press the tach up/down button to obtain the float calibration mode 31.
The tach should display:
0031
FLO
OK: GO TO Step 4.
NOT OK: Check tach.
4 - Calibrate float system. With the raise/lower rocker switch on the multifunction lever, lower the header until it is about 100 mm above ground level (the header must not touch the ground).
Press the fan speed button on the tach. The tach should display:
0031
HFL
Press the resume to float button on the multifunction lever.
The tach should display:
0031
EOC
OK: GO TO Step 5.
NOT OK: Header does not raise or lower, check system hydraulics.
NOT OK: Display does not change to "HFL", make sure raise/lower rocker switch is off. See Test Procedure No. 8.
NOT OK: Display "E5X" or "E39" indicates an error. GO TO Test Procedure No. 37.
NOT OK: Display does not change from "HFL". GO TO Test Procedure No. 23.

Step Action GO TO:
5 - Store header calibration data in AHC. Press the fan speed button on the tach to store all calibration values.
If no errors occurred during calibration, the following will be displayed:
EOC
E00
END
If any errors occurred during calibration, previous calibration values are kept and the following will be displayed:
EOC
Err
END
OK: Calibration is done. GO TO Step 6.
NOT OK: If errors occurred, GO TO Test Procedure 37.
6 - Reset to normal operation. The key switch must be turned "OFF" to return the AHC to normal operation at the next start-up.
