IMPORTANT: Relieve system pressure before connecting hydraulic hoses.

  1. Position tractor drawbar close to planter hitch and connect hydraulic hoses.

  2. Adjust jack height to align hitch with tractor's drawbar.

  3. Couple planter hitch to tractor's drawbar by inserting pin (B).

  4. Secure using locking pin (C).

  5. Raise planter.

  6. Retract parking props.

  7. Connect planting monitor cable, if equipped.

  8. Place jack in horizontal position.

Coupling planter with VACUMETER™ system, without CCS, to tractors with hydraulic valve block without flow control valve:

A - Tee Fitting

C - Pressure Line

D - Return Line

E - Case Drain Line

IMPORTANT: If hydraulic pump does not have case drain line connections (A) and (B), see your dealer to request the kit.

NOTE: To install hydraulic pump kit see your John Deere dealer.

  1. Perform the previously described procedure.

  2. Couple hydraulic pump to tractor PTO.

  3. Level planter. See “Leveling Planter”.

  1. Connect vacuum and CCS system hoses to flow control valve (A).

  2. Connect lift system hoses to simple valve (B).

    NOTE: The use of the oil filter and oil cooler for the VACUMETER™ system on the planter is unnecessary.

    IMPORTANT: The tractor must be equipped with a connector (A) for coupling the free return hydraulic hose of the CCS and vacuum motors.

    NOTE: If the tractor does not have the connector, request the free return kit from your John Deere dealer.

  3. Level planter. See “Leveling Planter”.

  1. Directly connect hoses to the tractor SCV.

    NOTE: The use of the oil filter and oil cooler for the VACUMETER™ system on the planter is unnecessary.

    IMPORTANT: The tractor must be equipped with a connector (A) for coupling the free return hydraulic hose of the CCS and vacuum motors.
