Hoe-Type Fertilizer Furrow Opener

CQ289210-UN-24JAN11
Hoe-type furrow opener necessarily requires using the cutter
disk. The furrow opener can be mounted in one of two positions. One
position is close to the cutter disk and the other is further away.
These different mounting positions can be very useful in different
operating conditions, since they permit that the hoes can be offset,
thereby improving the flow of straw between them.
Adjusting Angle of Attack (Y) between Hoe
and Ground
-
Remove bolt (A).
-
Loosen bolt (B).
-
Align hole (C) of hoe shaft with bolt hole and insert bolt (A).
-
Tighten bolts (A and B).
IMPORTANT: A lesser angle of attack (Y) implies greater penetration
capacity and less force is needed for traction. A greater
angle of attack (Y) implies less soil turn over.
These observations may differ due to local ground conditions
and they should be verified in practice to determine the best operating
position.
NOTE: The bolt works as a shear bolt, i.e. it will break if
the hoe encounters an obstacle that may damage it. If this occurs
replace bolt by another of class M10, grade 8.8.

CQ292514-UN-25JAN12
When the hoe-type furrow opener is adjusted to the greater angle
of attack (Y), there is a difference of (X) in furrow depth.
To correct this difference, use depth adjustment bolt (A) or
adjust the position by means of bolts (B).
Replacing Hoe Tip

CQ224431-UN-25FEB05
