Cleaning Vacuum System Ducts
Dirt or the remains of chemical seed treatment may accumulate
in the vacuum system ducts, causing the loss of vacuum in drills.
This can lead to faults and subsequent lack of planting precision.
Clean the ducts at least once a week during planting season,
or even more frequently if working in dusty conditions.
CAUTION: Agricultural chemicals may be hazardous. The inappropriate
handling or choice of products can poison persons, animals and cause
irreparable damage to the environment. Use and apply these products
with care, carefully following the manufacturer's instructions.
To clean, proceed as follows:

With disks filled with seeds, adjust vacuum level to 11-12
inches of water column, according to planter gauge.

One by one, remove the vacuum hoses (A) from seed meters. Shake
out the hose for a few seconds then reconnect it to seed meter.

Remove the covers from both ends of the main duct in the
vacuum system, one by one, wait for some seconds as dirt is ejected.

Reinstall following inverse order of removal.
