Adjusting and Checking CCS Vacuum and Pressure Level—Dual
Flex Planters

CQ225921-UN-24FEB05

CQ235740-UN-24FEB05
IMPORTANT: The machine must be ready to start planting, filled
up with seeds.
-
Connect hoses to tractor's SCV.
NOTE: See Coupling and Uncoupling.
-
Keep valves (A and B) initially closed to avoid exceeding turbine
maximum operating speed.
-
Start up engine and set tractor to working speed (the speed
used for planting).
-
Engage CCS system agitator via key (A) on corner post.
-
Check if the tractor selective control valves are in constant
flow position (B) and maximum flow. Shift to this position if not.
CCS Pressure Adjustment

CQ227551-UN-03MAR05

CQ227510-UN-29OCT04

CQ236460-UN-02MAR05
CAUTION: DO NOT surpass the pressure of 30 inches of water for
the CCS tank. Any pressure greater than this may damage the hydraulic
motor.
IMPORTANT: Lower planter completely to carry out CCS pressure
adjustment, keeping constant flow at SCV.
NOTE: Check the CCS pressure value indicated for each crop in Tank Pressure Table.
-
Make sure knob (C) is closed.
-
Totally open valve (A) or (B) (depending on the valve to which
the vacuum hose is connected).
-
Turn knob (C) until the recommended CCS pressure level is achieved,
paying close attention to the position of the needle on the gauge.
Adjusting Vacuum

CQ227551-UN-03MAR05

CQ227510-UN-29OCT04

CQ235580-UN-24FEB05
-
NOTE: Check the vacuum value indicated for each crop type in Seed Rate - Vacuum Meter Section.
Check that there are seeds in seed metering boxes.
-
Open knobs (C) completely.
CAUTION: DO NOT operate the planter with one or both valves
totally closed.
-
Turn adjustment handle (A) or (B) (depending on the valve to
which the vacuum hose is connected) until the required vacuum level
is achieved, paying close attention to the position of the needle
on the gauge.
-
Plant a small number of seeds or rotate the disks so that they
become filled with seeds.
-
If the difference in the vacuum between one planter and the
other is above 2 vacuum inches, then carry out fine adjustment through
valves (C).
Turn knob (C) referring to planter that has higher vacuum level,
restricting its flow until the two planters are even.
-
After these initial adjustments are made start to plant and
pay careful attention to gauge readings, carry out fine adjustment
on tractor VCS if necessary.
