Use of Double Eliminator - Type B

NOTE: When using double eliminator, set vacuum to approx. level
15 and install double notch brush.
There are three indicating marks on the scale but it is possible
to adjust at any position along its range; it is necessary to lock
setting to maintain setting in position. Center position has a detent
to indicate 1/2 of hole closed.
Smaller indicating mark: Hole open.
Center indicating mark: 1/2 of hole
closed, position with detent.
Bigger indicating mark: Greater part
of hole closed.
Types of Operation for Double Eliminators:
-
Normal operating position is with indicating mark aligned with
arrow on metering box. This position means approximately 1/2 of seed
hole is covered and should provide good elimination of doubles for
most seed sizes and forms. If double elimination performance is inconsistent
and can not be corrected by variation of vacuum level or by reduction
of planting speed it may be necessary to move adjustment to smaller
mark (hole open) or to bigger mark (greater part of hole closed).
-
Seed disk hub height adjustment is critical for adequate performance.
Adjust seed disk hub so that it maintains a slight contact with metering
box. Proper adjustment is reached if disk turns approximately one
turn when turning hub manually.

A - Plate
B - Detent assembly
C - Handle
If there is excessive wear on double eliminator plate (A) due
to contact with seed disk, check the following:
-
Seat of detent assembly (B) in slot.
-
Seat of handle (C) in hole.

NOTE: If it is necessary to remove assembly, remove pin (A).
Removal/installation of locking pin may be performed several times
before there is the need to replace these components.
If double eliminator adjustment turns out to be difficult, proceed
as follows:
-
Remove pin (A).
-
Remove double eliminator.
-
Lubricate double eliminator assembly with graphite powder.
-
Reinstall double eliminator in inverse order of removal.
-
Move double eliminator along whole range of adjustment do assure
efficient operation.
Operating Double Eliminator with Honeycomb Disk
