Adjustment of Single-Disk Boot

CQ190510
CQ190510-UN-14MAY08

  1. Adjust fertilizer meter boot (B) via bracket (H) so that the scraper (E) remains within the external diameter of the disk, as illustrated at (C).

  2. Tighten bolts (A).

  3. Adjust initial pressure of scraper (E) against the furrow opener disk with the two bolts (D).

IMPORTANT: The scraper must lightly touch on the furrow opener disk at (C). The scraper must be mounted above the chamfer of the disk and the lower part must not have a gap between itself and the disk. The scraper possesses elongated holes that permit better adjustment as it becomes worn.

  4. Position boot bracket (A), then set the scraper (E) on washers (G).

In wet conditions and conditions of heavy straw content it may be necessary to move the upper part of the scraper out. In this event, it should also be set on washers.

NOTE: The part of the fertilizer meter boot (B) that is attached to the scraper (E) can be used as an emergency scraper. Since the boot (B) is made of cast iron, carefully monitor its wear, which may be even more rapid than that of the scraper (E).
