Fertilizer and Seed Transmission

CAUTION: Take care not to catch fingers in chains.

The seed/ fertilizer transmission set is located on the right-hand and left-hand side of the planter. The gear ratio adjustment system works without the need for tools.

1. Select the required spacing and seed/fertilizer rate.
2. With this information in hand go to the SEED/ FERTILIZER RATE group and consult the table corresponding to the seed/ fertilizer meter installed on the planter and the crop to be planted.
3. Check in the table the combination of drive gears (C), driven gears (D) and reduction gears (F) most suited to your needs. On the side of the machine there is a sticker indicating the number of teeth that each gear has.
4. Alter the gear combination (C, D and F) as stated in the table.

Altering Gear Combination

1. Open cover (A).
2. Apply pressure to tensioning spring (E) so that chain can be freed. Move chain.
3. Remove rubber spacers (B).
4. Alter drive gear (C) by placing the chain on the gear indicated in the table.
5. Alter driven gear (D) by placing the chain on the gear indicated in the table.
6. Replace rubber spacers (B) so that the gears in use are aligned.
7. Place tensioning spring (E).
8. Select the reduction gear (F) modifying the chain to the required position.
9. Carry out the alterations to transmissions on both sides of the machine, if equipped on both sides.
