Start of Planting Season

Before using the planter inspect the seed and fertilizer boxes for cleanliness and check that they are in good working order.

Minutely inspect the planter to check for loose parts and carry out necessary adjustments.

Inspect and lubricate all grease fittings and chains. replace any missing grease fittings.

Retighten all bolts. It is important that all bolts remain tightened at all time. loose bolts may damage parts.

Clean any dirt or grease accumulated on moving parts, gears and chains before starting to use planter. This will avoid any abrasive action that may cause excessive wear.

Turn the seed box drive shaft by hand to ensure that this and the seed metering mechanism moves freely. Rotate these only in a forwards direction, since the assembly is not designed to rotate in the other direction.

Check that all adjustments for the planting conditions are made.
