Check seed meter annually.

Check for wear and build up of seed treatment debris.

  1. Remove cover.

  2. Remove seed retainer and clean out meter. To remove seed retainer:

    Remove bolt (A).

Release clips that hold retainer to housing.

    Pull retainer away from housing.

  3. Check brush for wear. If the width of the brush is less then 3 mm, or if the upper tip of the brush (A) is below the green retaining brush (B) when mounted in the meter, replace brush. The wear of the brush may vary according to soil conditions and it can be accelerated in very dusty conditions.

  4. Inspect the green retaining brush for wear. Missing fibers is an indication that the brush needs to be replaced more frequently. Wear of the green retaining brush is normal and small bumps (A) in the brush are normal.

Meter will operate properly even with these fibers worn off.

  5. Inspect knockout wheel for excessive wear. Replace if wheel fails to come into contact with cover.

  6. Annual cleaning of the radial bean meter is recommended. Use neutral soap and a soft bristle brush to clean.

NOTE: Clean meter thoroughly and remove any build up of chemicals from seed treatments that may have formed.

NOTE: When mounting cover, check that knockout wheel (A) does not have its movements hampered by the cover.

IMPORTANT: Comply with safety procedures when handling chemical treatments for seeds. Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
