-
Completely clean machine and store in a covered and dry area.
Place a plank under the offset disks and/or hoes to prevent them from
entering into soil or floor.
-
Completely lubricate machine. See “Lubrication and Service”
section.
-
Check to see if there are loose or damaged components. Replace
and/or tighten as required.
-
Cover offset disks and/ or furrow openers in a layer of grease
or oil and then lower onto a plank for storage.
-
Repaint exposed metallic areas, if necessary, to prevent rust.
-
Apply grease to exposed area of all hydraulic cylinder rods.
-
Before disconnecting hydraulic hoses, release pressure in all
lines. This is done by lowering all planting rows to ground. Shutdown
tractor engine. Move SCV lever forwards and backwards three times
to release system pressure.
-
Place covers on the ends of the hydraulic hoses and place them
in their supports on the planter.
-
Dry clean the seed tank using compressed air.

TS266-UN-23AUG88
CAUTION: Reduce the compressed air pressure to less than 2 bar
(30 psi) to clean the tanks. Move all people away from machine.
Use protective equipment, including goggles.
IMPORTANT: Cleaning with compressed air is recommended, to prevent
the formation of sticky deposits (caused by contact with water) in
the air lines.
-
Clean the fertilizer meters and tanks with water jets ensuring
that no fertilizer can form a crust on the bottom of the tank.
IMPORTANT: Remove fertilizer metering augers. Clean and lubricate
to prolong service life.
Place dome on meters.
Leave machine to dry in sum immediately after washing.
NOTE: Any waste matter in the tanks should be washed out with
pressurized water jets.
-
Lubricate all of the machine's chains and transmissions to prevent
rusting by the humid air. Rusting tends to stiffen chain links causing
them to become less flexible and the machine as a whole to become
less maneuverable.
-
Adjust tires according to adjustment table.
