Calculating Minimum Tractor Weight for Safe Transport

CAUTION: The use of a tractor with ballast inferior to the minimum weight may result in the loss of control and serious injury or death.

CAUTION: Do not transport a planter loaded to more than half capacity. Do not transport a towed load (with a fertilizer tank) unless it has been emptied.

IMPORTANT: Always consult the tractor operator's manual to obtain more information on safe transport.

If a towed load is coupled to the rear of the implement, add the weight of the towed load to total implement weight before dividing by 1.5.

FORMULA: Total weight of implement÷ 1.5 = Minimum Tractor Weight for Safe Transport
