At the End of Each Season

If possible, store the combine in a dry, sheltered place.

Clean thoroughly the inside of the combine (through the work windows) and its outside. Organic residue help build up humidity causing oxidation.

NOTE: If high pressure water is used (for example, from a car wash), to proceed with washing the combine, do not point the water stream towards the bearings.

Remove all trapezoidal belts.

Clean all belts. Do not use aggressive cleaners. Do not use cleaning agents based on gasoline, benzene or similar.

The recommended procedure is to use a cloth dipped in:

· liquid ammonia,

· soap, or

· a 1:10 base glycerin and solvent mixture.

Store the belts free of tension in a fresh, dark place, avoid deforming them.

Thoroughly clean all the transmission chains and grease them with a brush of thick oil to avoid oxidation.

Thoroughly clean all the augers and clean grain and tailings elevators , leave the lower and top elevator openings open.

Thoroughly clean the grain tank and the unloading auger.

Clean all shoes.

Lubricate the underside of the feeder house to avoid corrosion. Lubricate the combine according to the lubrication charts. Grease threads of adjusting bolts, etc. Relieve tension on the springs.

Touch up all places where paint is damaged.

Strut the combine onto blocks to level it or lower the header onto a horizontal dry base. Lower the feeder house.

Lubricate all the metallic surfaces on the hydraulic cylinder pistons and retract them as far as they go.

Strut the machine with wood blocks so that the wheels do not touch the ground. Leave tires inflated.

If the combine should be parked in the open air, raise it and remove the wheels. Store the wheels in a cool, dark and dry place.

Lubricate all the linkages and friction points that need lubrication.

List all the servicing and maintenance work to be carried out before the next season and perform it on time. Your Dealer can perform its part better between seasons.
