Before the start of each season the combine must be serviced in detail This way its good operation is ensured avoiding breakdowns that can cause trouble at harvesting time.
Clean the combine carefully inside and outside, if this procedure was not carried out at the end of the previous season. Reinstall all belts and check their tensions.
Adjust the tension of the belts and make sure the clean grain and tailings elevator chains are well clean.
Clean the slip clutch (ratchets). Then adjust the tension of the springs (see "Slip Clutches" in the "Maintenance - Transmissions/Guards"Section).

Close elevator covers.
Lubricate the combine thoroughly according to the lubrication chart.
After running the combine at half throttle for half an hour. Check the bearings for overheating.
Check the tire inflation pressures.
Service the combine and make sure that all bolts are tight and cotter pins are in their correct place.
