Sieve

The sieve separates all the remaining straw from the grain.

If it is opened too wide, there will be too much chopped straw in the grain tank.

If it is not opened wide enough, there will be too many grains in the tailing and, consequently, too many broken grains in the grain tank.

Grain Catch Plate

Its function is to capture the ends of pods, ears or sheaves not completely threshed and that were not recovered by the chaffer extension.
