1° Step: Harvest Yield
NOTE:
The combine must be totally free of grains in the grain tank, elevators and augers.
a) Harvest a 100 m
2
sample.
Distance (X) to be traveled to complete 100 m
2
:
14 feet (X) = 24 m
16 feet (X) = 21 m
19 feet (X) = 17.6 m
b) Be prepared with a container (bag) at the grain tank grain inlet to receive the harvested grains.
c) Weigh the harvested grains, for the harvesting yield is provided by the following formula:
Sample weight x 100 (kg/ha)
EXAMPLE:
A combine fitted with a 16 feet cutting platform should travel 21 m to complete 100 m
2
. The weight of the harvested sample is of 24 kg. What is the yield per hectare?
Solution:
Sample weight x 100 = 24 x 100 = 2400 kg/ha
