Conventional batteries
Sulfuric acid in Battery electrolyte is toxic. It is strong enough to burn skin, burn holes in clothing, and cause blindness if it affects the eyeballs.
1.
Refill the battery in a well ventilated place.
2.
Wear safety goggles and gloves.
3.
Do not inhale the fumes while adding electrolyte.
4.
Do not spill any electrolyte.
5.
When starting the engine with a booster Battery, take care not to invert the polarity.
In case acid gets into contact with the skin:
1.
Clean the affected area with water.
2.
Prepare a sodium carbonate solution or any other base agent to neutralize the acid.
3.
Flush eyes with water during 10 to15 minutes.
4.
Call a physician immediately.
In case of electrolyte ingestion:
1.
Drink large amounts of water or milk.
2.
Then drink milk of magnesia, beaten eggs, or vegetable oil.
3.
Call a physician immediately.
