Front Axle Tread Adjustment - Two-Wheel Drive

IMPORTANT: Put the jack under the front weights.

DO NOT PUT the jack under the engine sump.

1. Lift the front end of the tractor with a jack.
2. When making bigger tread adjustments, it might be necessary to change the length of the tie rod (A) either before or during the adjustment of the axle. See "Checking the Toe-In - Two-Wheel Drive" in this section.
3. Remove the four bolts (B) from the front axle (2 on each side).
4. Slide the axle articulations to the desired position. Both sides must be adjusted to the same spacing.
5. Reinstall the four bolts (B) on each side of the axle. Tighten the bolts to 480 N·m (350 lb-ft).
6. Adjust the toe-in. See the checking and adjusting procedure that corresponds to the type of axle.
