Lubricating 4x2 Axle -Front Wheel Bearings

1. Raise front end of tractor with a jack.

causym CAUTION: Fix tractor firmly on supports before removing wheel. DO NOT PUT jack on engine crankcase.


2. Remove cover, shaft key and wheel nut.
3. Remove washer and wheel bearings. Clean parts in solvent and dry with compressed air. Replace worn or damaged parts.
4. Lubricate bearing with universal grease (See "Fuel, Lubricants and Coolant" section). Cover the ring with the same type of grease.
5. Reinstall bearings, washer and wheel.
6. Tighten wheel nut until slight resistance is felt when turning hub. Loosen nut just enough to be able to insert the cotter pin in its correct place.
7. Install cover and wheels. Tighten bolts to 180 N·m (130 lb-ft). Retighten bolts after driving tractor 100 m (328 ft 1 in.) and again after 3 and 10 hours operation.
