Method of Measuring Slip Rate Using a Stopwatch
1.
Mark out two points
A
and
B
approximately 30 m apart.
2.
Start 20 m (65 ft 7 in.) before starting mark
A
. Start stopwatch when marker
A
is reached and stop stopwatch when marker
B
is reached. Record time.
3.
Cover the same distance with the implement raised (in transport position) and record time between
A
and
B
, using the same gear and engine operating speed.
| |
|
| Slip (%) = |
(time for step 2 - time for step 3) X 100 |
| |
____________________________ |
| |
Time for step 2 |
| |
|
Example
In field position, time = 15 s
Implement without load = 13 s.
| |
|
|
| Slip = |
(15 - 13) x 100 = |
13.3 % |
| |
____________ |
|
| |
15 |

NOTE:
Add more weight if slip is excessive, always respecting recommended maximum values. For rates below minimum, weight must be removed.
