Belts

causym CAUTION: Never install belts with the engine running.

When installing a belt, loosen the idler pulleys. Never force the belt over the outside lip of the pulley as this could cause one or more strands to break and weaken the belt.

New belts stretch. For this reason check the tension of new belts several times during the initial days of use. Belts can be damaged by being fitted too loose as well as too tight.

Never use a harsh product to clean belts. Never use turpentine or similar solvents. Clean belts with a rag

soaked in a solution of liquid ammonia or soap and water.

The service life of a belt also depends on pulley condition. A damaged pulley can also damage the belt.

Slight fraying of the outer belt layer does not mean a damaged belt. These frayed areas can be cut off.

IMPORTANT: After the end of harvesting, remove the belts and store them in a cool, dry area.
