Reel Speed Control (DIAL-A-SPEED)
IMPORTANT:
Reel speed adjustment can only be done while reel is running.
Automatic Mode Operation
Potentiometer in position 0 to 10 means reel speed control in automatic mode.
Reel speed-to-ground speed ratio may be preselected. Turning to the right changes ratio from 0.8 to 2.2 (shown on switch as 0 to 10).
When working in downed and tangled grain crops and a reel speed faster than working speed is desired, move potentiometer to index 1.1 to 2.2, corresponding to range 2-10 on potentiometer.
Manual Mode Operation
Potentiometer in position (X) means reel speed control in manual mode. Manual mode is not related to combine ground speed. Reel speed will depend on position of manual adjustment switch (C).
Switch (C) in position "I" increases reel speed, position "II" reduces speed.
CCU address 0029 determines which mode, automatic or manual, will have priority. The procedure for setting this priority is in group "Service-Electrical System".
NOTE:
Reel speed control system will only operate within a ground speed range from 1.0 km/h (0.62 mph) to 10 km/h (6.25 mph).
NOTE:
For tracked combines there is a large difference between the combine gear speed and reel speed. Therefore, the combine ground speed can be disregarded when the DIAL-A-SPEED system is engaged.
